Language of money translates well for ESL

Abbotsford Community Services received more than half a million dollars this year to continue providing English-language training to the growing number of immigrants coming to this community. “The funding expands our capacity,” said Manpreet Grewal, manager of the ACS immigrant services. Abbotsford MLAs John van Dongen and Mike de Jong presented Grewal and Corinne Vooys, ESL supervisor, with a cheque for $579,736 for the one-year contract on Friday.
