Edgar Martin School ESL: Giving thanks around the world

Students learn about traditions, share dishes. Parents and students in the English as a Second Language program reflected on how the pilgrims’ voyage to America is much like their own.
“It takes all kinds of people to make up a great country like America,” one student declared during a skit.
The group had gathered in the portable buildings of Edgar Martin Middle School to celebrate an international Thanksgiving.
The morning was filled with skits, a powerpoint presentation about the ESL group, prayers in three different languages and food provided by the 42 participating students.
